“SECOND SKIN” TOPS
From the infamous Asai Hot-Wok tie-dye tops to Marine Serre’s moon print, “Second skin” tops have been an unstoppable trend over the past couple of years.
Although the trend may have landed on our radars via these unique luxury designers, there are plenty of affordable mid-market and preloved options.
Sidenote- I couldn’t help but wonder; we’ve been wearing fitted cotton polo-necks our whole lives, do those count as “second skin'' tops?
I was lucky enough to bag the above floral top at a Ganni sample sale this past September. I definitely could have sized down, but I have pretty huge boobs (they’re hidden well) so decided to go for a medium. I’m serving more ‘baggy skin’ than ‘second skin’.
Here, I styled my top with a vintage Burberry trench coat (an eBay STEAL, but I’ll share that story in another blog post), Jil Sander black trousers, Ganni chunky loafers and a snakeskin Manu Atelier bag.
What do you think of this trend? Is it even really a trend?
