BEST AFFORDABLE JEWELLERY BRANDS
Firstly, who’s to dictate what is deemed ‘affordable’? Certainly not me. Affordability is relative.
However, in the grand scheme of jewellery shopping things, there are a few select brands that I consider affordable. Personally, I prefer a gold finish, and with prices ranging from just £15 for gold vermeil and gold plated pieces, I’d say that’s not bad at all.
Seol + Gold are a UK based jewellery brand who “cater for all vibes, from delicate 9ct gold flourishes to richly plated statement jewellery for layering.” Originally based solely online, the brand recently secured a permanent physical location at Shoreditch Boxpark, where you can shop their full collection. Seol + Gold also offer an in-person ring sizing service, which is great for people like me, who have spent their whole lives guessing! Most importantly, the brand offer free replating for life! This is a great initiative to encourage customers to wear and re-wear their pieces.
Also Seol + Gold were the first brand to ever reach out to me, compliment my content and offer to send me some pieces to style, so they will always hold a special place in my heart.
If you’ve ever scrolled on the internet then I’m sure you’ve heard of jewellery designer Monica Vinader.
Monica Vinader believes that “luxury is a feeling no longer defined by expense or exclusivity, but by expression and exceptional quality of craftsmanship”. The brand offers luxury styles that aim to be attainable to all. I recently received a gold vermeil Talisman pendant necklace as part of the brands MV Insiders influencer programme and I absolutely love it. I got it engraved with my full name on the back and it’s a piece I reach for often.
Founded in 2012 by Connie Nam, Astrid & Miyu is known for their innovative designs and signature ear stacks- which you often see whilst scrolling through Instagram. Astrid & Miyu’s pieces are inspired by the city of London, “from arts and architecture to vintage pieces to Mother Nature, and most importantly, you, all of our customers.” This brand really focus on creating an experience that is personal and engaging and it’s clear that they really believe in the power and value of community.
My favourite Astrid & Miyu pieces are my signet ring and my rainbow huggie earrings, which I wear every-single-day.
Founded by Marisa Hordern and launched in 2008, Missoma London cite themselves as one of the first Demi-Fine jewellery brands.
“We believe in quality craftsmanship and fashion-forward design that can be worn everyday. Made to be layered, our demi-fine and fine styles are the ultimate champions of self-expression.”
I can personally vouch for the quality of Missoma pieces as I purchased two necklaces in 2017. Now, I’m the kind of person who never used to take their jewellery off before showering or going to bed (don’t judge me). I kept both necklaces on for the better part of 2 years and experienced hardly any fading, However, I wouldn't recommend showering with gold plated jewellery if you want your items to last! But the fact that mine are still standing is a testament to the quality of the craftsmanship.
Known for their unique personalisation style, a Little Smith piece is the perfect gift- especially with Christmas just around the corner. Back in 2016, I was influenced to buy a personalised necklace after watching a YouTuber talk about hers. I think this may have also been the first time I was influenced by an influencer and actually spent my hard earned cash on a recommendation from a stranger on the interwebs. Good times.
Because each piece is hand stamped, no two pieces will be the same, “Irregularities add character, resulting in each piece taking on it’s own beautiful identity.”
I myself own two necklaces with my full name on them; one silver and horizontal and the other gold and vertical. What can I say? I like variety. I’ve also gifted these necklaces to my mother and my sister, and they both loved them.
Of course the pieces are available to order online, however Little Smith are also stocked in some well-known retailers across the UK.
So that was my round up of my top affordable jewellery brands- which I just realised- all just happen to be UK based. Biased? Me? Nah.
Happy Shopping!
